A76 South of Glenairlie Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface of 1.8km of the A76 South of Glenairlie, between Sanquhar and Carronbridge.
In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a weekend closure of the trunk road.
James McLean, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Network Design Engineer said:
“We have been working in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully plan this project to be delivered with minimal impact and maximum efficiency.
“The safety of our workers and the motoring public is of paramount concern and therefore it will be necessary to close the trunk road while these works are carried out. Working across the weekend reduces the impact on businesses and commuters using this popular route.”
Scotland TranServ will close the trunk road during the following periods:
- 7pm Friday 15th to 6am Monday 18th February 2019
Additional daytime convoy works will also be required during the following times:
- 8am to 6pm on Monday 18th February, and
- 8am to 6pm on Tuesday 19th February
