M8 Junction 15 Parapet Repairs and Cope Removals

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out remedial works to the copes and parapets on the M8 Junction 15 at Townhead in Glasgow.

In order to protect the health and safety of our workers and the general public, and to keep disruption to an absolute minimum, these essential works will be carried out under shared overnight traffic management.

Stephen Batchen, Scotland TranServ’s Senior Bridge Engineer said:

“Following consultation with emergency services, the local authority and stakeholders we have scheduled these essential cope and parapet works for a time of least disruption to the travelling public.

“In order to properly access the motorway edge to carry out this project and to protect the health and safety of our workers and the general public, we will need to close adjacent lanes of the M8. It will also be necessary to fully close the A803 overnight in order to access the structure. Local diversions will be in place throughout. Access will also be maintained for emergency service vehicles.”

This phased programme of works will be carried out under the following closures:

  • 9pm Sunday 3rd to 5am Monday 4th March – A803 closed with local diversion in place
  • 9pm Monday 4th to 5am Tuesday 5th March – A803 closed with local diversion in place
  • 9pm Tuesday 5th to 5am Wednesday 6th March – Two way running of Castle Street with M8 lane closures in place
  • 9pm Wednesday 6th to 5am Thursday 7th March – Two way running of Castle Street with M8 lane closures in place
