A75 Resurfacing at Glenterry

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out the resurfacing of 1.1km of carriageway on the A75 at Glenterry, between Twynholm and Gatehouse of Fleet.

In order to complete this £838k project as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a series of lane closures between Friday 16th and Friday 30th of November.

David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s trunk road design lead on the project said:

“As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road structural maintenance programme, Scotland TranServ has been investing progressively to improve the road surface quality of the A75. Following a number of projects over the last few months, we will carry out further resurfacing works on 1.1kilometres of carriageway at Glenterry between Twynholm and Gatehouse of Fleet.

“This project has been planned in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders. The nature of the trunk road in this area allows us to complete this extensive programme of works under daytime lane closures, while allowing traffic to continue flowing. Lane closures are necessary in order to protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public.”

Lane closures will be implemented during the following times:

  • 8am on Friday 16th and 6pm on Friday 30th of November

Drivers are asked allow some extra time for their journey. Live updates will be available on trafficscotland.org and by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
