A77 Ballantrae Revised Resurfacing Programme

Due to adverse weather conditions affecting much of South West Scotland this week it has been necessary to revise our A77 resurfacing programme in Ballantrae.

The Met Office Yellow Weather Warning for high winds and subsequent heavy rain required that the works were postponed. These have now been rescheduled for completion between  Saturday 1st and Thursday 6th December.

David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s Structural Maintenance design lead on the works said:

“Unfortunately the adverse weather impacted our planned programme of works. To protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public during these high winds it was necessary to postpone the scheme. We have quickly rescheduled these works for the soonest available period.

“It will be necessary to carry out a series of staged lane closures of the A77 through Ballantrae while the resurfacing works are completed. In order to do so as safely and efficiently as possible, Scotland TranServ will implement a convoy traffic management system.”

The convoy system will operate during the following times each day:

  • 8am Saturday 1st to 6pm Thursday 6th December

Drivers are advised to allow some additional time for their journeys. Live trunk road information is available by checking trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
