A77 Maybole North Gateway to Smithston

Scotland TranServ, as part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road maintenance programme, will resurface the A77 Maybole North Gateway to Smithston.

In order to complete this programme of works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement two full weekend closure of the trunk road this February

Scotland TranServ’s Project lead Designer, David Montgomery said:

“Scotland TranServ has consulted with emergency services, local authorities and key local stakeholders ahead of these works. To protect the health and safety of our workers and the travelling public while this work is being carried out, we will need to close the trunk road and implement a routine diversion.

“On behalf of Transport Scotland, resurfacing this 1.8km stretch of carriageway is the first of our A77 works programme for 2019. The project will be delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to reduce the impact on commuters and local businesses.”

This extensive programme of work will require the closure of the trunk road during the following dates:

  • 8pm on Friday 1st to 6am on Monday 4th of February, and
  • 8pm on Friday 8th to 6am on Monday 11th of February

Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys. Live trunk road information is available on trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
