A77 North of Kirkoswald Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface the A77 at Auchenblane, north of Kirkoswald.
The programme of work will require a two phase approach, with drainage work required before resurfacing of the 0.6km of carriageway can get under way.
Dayle Gillespie, Scotland TranServ’s Project Design Lead on the works said:
“This significant programme of work has been scheduled in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key local stakeholders. The drainage works will be carried out under temporary traffic management.
“In order to protect the safety of our workers and to minimise the impact on the travelling public, the resurfacing works will require the trunk road to be closed over a weekend. Every effort has been made to schedule this closure outwith the holiday season and avoiding major events.”
To minimise the impact of this major resurfacing project on local communities and businesses, works will be carried out under the following traffic management:
- Mon 25th February to Thursday 7th March, drainage works will be carried out under 24hour, temporary traffic lights
- 8pm Friday 8th March to 6am Monday 11th March resurfacing works will be carried out under full weekend closure of the A77, with a diversion in place
Drivers are asked to allow some extra time for their journeys while these important works are carried out. Live trunk road updates are available on trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
