A78 Bankfoot to Inverkip Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will be resurfacing 800metres of the A78 between Bankfoot and Inverkip.
The £243k programme of works will be carried out under a series of OVERNIGHT closures, running for 7 nights from Monday 23rd until Monday 30th of July.
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Road Design Engineer said:
“We involved the local community and key stakeholders in the scheduling of this programme of works. The project was originally programmed alongside the £1Million of A78 investment we delivered during April. The community and elected members expressed concerns over the timing of the project then, and so we worked with them to schedule it for a more convenient time.
“Works have also been scheduled for overnight, to keep disruption to an absolute minimum. And, we’re working with local bus operators to ensure their timetable isn’t affected.”
Traffic management will be implemented at 8pm each evening and lifted at 6am the following morning. Because of the nature of the trunk road network in this area of South West Scotland, diversion routes are significant and will add additional time onto journeys.
