A78 Rail Bridge to A737 Flyover
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will be resurfacing 1.3km of the A78 Southbound between the Rail Bridge and A737 flyover at Eglinton Interchange, south of Kilwinning.
In order to complete this £325k programme of works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a series of 5 overnight closures of the trunk road from Monday 10th to Friday the 14th of June.
David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:
“We have been working in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully schedule this short programme of works to limit the impact on local commuters and businesses. Overnight closures will be necessary to reduce this disruption. These works are part of a £3.2million investment programme being delivered on behalf of Transport Scotland.”
The necessary temporary traffic management will be implemented during following times:
- 8pm on Monday 10th to 6am on Tuesday 11th June
- 8pm on Tuesday 11th to 6am on Wednesday 12th June
- 8pm on Wednesday 12th to 6am on Thursday 13th June
- 8pm on Thursday 13th to 6am on Friday 14th June
- 8pm on Friday 14th to 6am on Saturday 15th June
Local diversions will be in place throughout. Drivers are asked to allow extra time for their journeys. Live trunk road updates are available on trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
