A8 Cartsdyke Roundabout Resurfacing

Due to adverse weather conditions at the start of the original A8 Cathcart Street to Cartsdyke Roundabout resurfacing programme, it has been necessary for Scotland TranServ to reschedule the project elements for the roundabout.

On behalf of Transport Scotland, we are now planning to resurface the Cartsdyke Roundabout overnights only on the 15th and 16th of April.

Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Roads Design Engineer said:

“It was necessary to postpone the start of the resurfacing programme due to March’s Met Office Yellow Weather Warning. While the remainder of the project went ahead as programmed, we needed to reschedule the resurfacing of the Cartsdyke Roundabout.

“In order to keep disruption to a minimum for commuters and local businesses, we are programming the works for two separate overnights. We have been consulting with the local authority, emergency services and stakeholders to reduce the impact on the community. Works will be carried out ahead of the busy Easter weekend.”

To complete the resurfacing of the Cartsdyke Roundabout and its approaches, it will be necessary to close the trunk road during the following times:

  • 8pm on Monday 15th to 6am on Tuesday 16th April, and
  • 8pm on Tuesday 16th to 6am on Wednesday 17th April

Local diversions will be in place. Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys and to visit trafficscotland.org or to follow @trafficscotland on Twitter for live updates.
