Role

  • To assist the Network Area Manager in the execution of his duties and act on his behalf as directed
  • To lead and, where necessary, assist the team with all activities relation to the inspection, maintenance, design and delivery of the Network and Routine Programme to meet client objectives and needs


Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
  • Carry out specialist investigations/inspections
  • Prepare Network related technical documents and Routine Scheme designs/instructions
  • Deal with Network related correspondence
  • Attend meetings and liaise with the client and other organisations as required
  • Manage and mentor Route/ Graduate Engineers
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontracted Routine/ Structural Maintenance works
  • Ensure all necessary design and construction related Quality Management and Health and Safety documentation is prepared and adhered to
  • Support Route Engineers to ensure that date necessary under the contract, and for the measurement of Key Performance Indicators, is collected and reported

 

The following personal qualities/ experience are essential:

  • SVQ Level 4/HNC/HND level or equivalent in civil engineering or related subject
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Flexibility to work within a small team
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Technical Competence
  • Good Communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Personal drive and determination to achieve results both as an individual and as a team
