New Layout for Lomondgate Roundabout
As part of Transport Scotland’s Strategic Trunk Road Safety Programme, Scotland TranServ will revise the Lomondgate Roundabout lane markings to help improve the safety of drivers and traffic flow. As part of this project, the roundabout will also be resurfaced.
In order to reduce the impact on commuters and freight traffic, works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am only. Preparation work will start on Monday 19th February, with the project scheduled for completion on Tuesday 27th February, weather permitting.
Vincent Tait, Scotland TranServ’s Road Safety Manager said:
“The new markings system is designed to improve traffic flow and driver safety; with the project developed and scheduled in consultation with Police Scotland, the local authority and key stakeholders.
“We’re working overnight in order to reduce the impact on local commuters and freight traffic. Special access arrangements have been made to ensure it’s business as normal for local services around the Lomondgate Roundabout while this work is undertaken.”
To minimise disruption to commuters and freight traffic, works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am each night only, from Monday 19th to Tuesday 27th February. Full lane closures are as follows:
- Northbound closures – 8pm to 6am on Mon 19th, Tues 20th, Sat 24th and Sun 25th February
- Southbound closures – 8pm to 6am on Wed 21st, Thurs 22nd, Fri 23rd and Mon 26th February
Local services will remain open as normal, with alternative access arrangements made throughout. Diversion details are also attached.
