Weather Warning Suspends A8 Resurfacing Works
Due to adverse weather conditions, with the forecast of a Met Office Yellow Weather Warning over the weekend, Scotland TranServ has been forced to reschedule the resurfacing of the A8 in Greenock, between Cathcart Street and the Cartsdyke Roundabout.
David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:
“It is disappointing that we need to temporarily suspend the programme of work. This is only a temporary delay, and we will be able to get back on track over the next few days, once the Yellow Weather Warning has dissipated.
“Scotland TranServ has been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key local stakeholders for a number of months to carefully plan this complex programme of works. This project is of the utmost importance and we hope there won’t be too much of a delay.”
Works are expected to resume overnight on Monday once the weather has cleared. Drivers are asked to check the Traffic Scotland website, or to follow @trafficscotland on Twitter for live updates.
