A77 Auchenblane Weekend Resurfacing
Scotland TranServ is reminding drivers of this weekend’s resurfacing works on the A77 at Auchenblane, North of Kirkoswald.
Approximately 600m of carriageway will be resurfaced as part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme.
The works follow on from last weeks’ overnight programme of resurfacing.
Following consultation with the local community, Scotland TranServ will implement a revised split diversion route.
Principal Road Design Engineer, Alan Murray said:
“Following the initial programme of overnight works, some concerns were raised by the local community through our follow-up consultation. Taking the comments of the community, emergency services and key stakeholders on board, with their support we have implemented a split diversion route.”
In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to close the trunk road during the following times:
- 8pm on Friday 16th until 6am on Monday 19th of August
Special provisions will be made for emergency service vehicle access during this time, however no specialist arrangements will be made for windfarm traffic. Diversions will be in place throughout these closures.
Drivers, particularly those joining the ferry services at Cairnryan, are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey. Live trunk road updates will be available by visiting trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
