As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will shortly resurface 1km of the A75 at Muirfad, east of Newton Stewart.

In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a daytime convoy system between Monday the 1^st and Friday the 5^th of July.

Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Road Design Engineer said:

“We’ve been working with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully plan this short programme of work. Working under a daytime convoy, we will be able to deliver the project as quickly and safely as possible, with minimum disruption to local commuters and businesses. We are also conscious of delivering the programme ahead of the busy holiday period, while trying to reduce the impact on freight traffic.”

The convoy traffic management system will be in operation during the following times:

• 7am to 7pm each day between Monday the 1st and Friday the 5th of July
