A75 Resurfacing Cassencarie, East of Newton Stewart
Scotland TranServ, as part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, is resurfacing 1km of the A75 at Cassencarie, East of Newton Stewart.
In order to complete this essential resurfacing programme as quickly and safely as possible it will be necessary to implement a convoy system between Thursday the 5th and Thursday the 12th of December.
Adam Sarwar, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead on the scheme said:
“We’ve been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to schedule this £260k project for minimal impact on the commuters and businesses using this strategic route every day. We’ve delivered significant investment into resurfacing the A75 trunk road over the last year, rounding off with a handful of projects during November and December.
“Combined with resurfacing at Twynholm and Benfield, Scotland TranServ will deliver nearly £900k of resurfacing within a matter of weeks. We appreciate that in order to carry out these essential works, it is necessary for us to cause some disruption, however we would like to take this opportunity to thank local drivers and communities for their patience while this important programme of tangible, long-term improvements is delivered.”
It will be necessary for Scotland TranServ to carry out this essential road surface improvement work under the following traffic management system:
• Convoy from Thursday 5th until Thursday 12th December from 8am to 5pm each day, with temporary traffic lights from 5pm to 8am each night
Drivers, particularly those heading for ferries, are advised to allow some additional time for their journeys. Live trunk road updates are available by visiting trafficscotland.org or following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
