A75 resurfacing works
Scotland TranServ continue positive strides in maintaining Dumfries and Galloway’s network with over £270,000 worth of resurfacing works on the A75 in the Eastriggs area between Irvington and Peatworks commencing Friday 7 August 2015.
The project will add to the £5m that has already been invested by Transport Scotland across Dumfries and Galloway’s trunk road network over the last six months.
Scotland TranServ will carry out the work over one weekend between Friday 7 August and Monday 10 August 2015.
To keep road users and roadworkers safe, a total closure will be implemented in both directions between Irvington and Peatworks. The road will be closed from 7.00pm on Friday evening and reopen at 6.00am on Monday morning.
Gordon Wilson, contract director, Scotland TranServ said:
“Dumfries and Galloway is the gateway to Scotland and is the first stop for thousands of tourists heading to the south west region.
“We are doing everything we can to minimise disruption by carrying these works out over one weekend however we would advise motorists to plan ahead and leave plenty of time for their journeys.”
A local diversion will be in place throughout the works. Westbound traffic shall exit the A75 at Gretna at the junction with the B721 and continue on the B721 passing through Rigg, Eastriggs, Dornock and at Annan East roundabout continue onto B6357 and taking right onto slip road to rejoin the A75 westbound.
