A75 West of River Annan
Scotland TranServ, as part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, will resurface 775m of the A75 West of the River Annan.
In order to complete this £430k programme of work as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary carry out the resurfacing project under a weekend closure of the trunk road, from Friday 30th of August to Monday 2nd of September, with four subsequent overnight closures.
Tony Chambers, Scotland TranServ’s design lead on the project said:
“Scotland TranServ’s inspections have identified that this stretch of the A75 carriageway is in need of resurfacing. Because of the nature of the trunk road in this area, and to protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, it will be necessary to carry out this important project under a weekend closure.
“We’ve been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully schedule these works for minimal impact on the local community and businesses. We would like to thank them for their patience while we deliver this short programme which will provide tangible, long-term benefits for commuters, freight traffic and holidaymakers alike.”
To complete these works as efficiently and effectively as possible, it will be necessary to close the carriageway during the following times:
- 7pm on Friday 30th August until 6am on Monday 2nd of September
- 7pm to 6am each overnight from Monday 2nd until Thursday 5th September
Diversions will be in place throughout this short programme of works. We would ask drivers to allow additional time for their journeys. Live trunk road updates are available by visiting trafficscotland.org, or following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
