A751 High Balyett Farm Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will deliver road surface improvements to the A751 at High Balyett Farm.
In order to deliver this short programme of work as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to close the trunk road between Saturday the 7th and Monday the 9th of March.
Michael Pagan, Scotland TranServ’s Network Area Manager for Dumfries and Galloway said:
“Due to the depth of the treatment required we will need to close the A751 during the works. To keep disruption to an absolute minimum for commuters and businesses, we have scheduled this short programme over the weekend.
“Scotland TranServ has been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key local stakeholders to carefully schedule these essential works avoiding peak holiday periods and large local events. It will be necessary to implement short diversion while this project is completed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their patience while these improvements are delivered.”
To reduce the impact on commuters and businesses, works are programmed to take place during the following times:
- 6:00 on Saturday 7th March and 06:00 on Monday 9th March
A short diversion via A75 to Stranraer and A77 will be in place throughout. Drivers are advised to allow some additional time for their journey. Live trunk road information is available by following @trafficscotland on Twitter, or by visiting trafficscotland.org.
