A76 Catrine Junction Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will deliver road surface improvements to 860m of the A76 at Catrine, between Mauchline and Auchinleck.
In order to deliver this project as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to close the trunk road over the weekend, from Friday the 6th until Monday the 9th of March.
Anthony Chambers, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead on the programme said:
“Scotland TranServ is continuing to deliver long-term improvements into the A76 trunk road connecting Kilmarnock with Dumfries. During 2019, Scotland TranServ delivered £5.5million of investment into the A76 on behalf of Transport Scotland, with that continuing through this £210k road surface improvement programme.
“We have been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully plan these works, avoiding peak holiday periods and important dates in the local events calendar. Scotland TranServ would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their patience while this essential resurfacing project is delivered.”
To complete these works as quickly and efficiently as possible, with minimal disruption to commuters and businesses, it will be necessary to close the A76 trunk road at this point between the following times:
- 8pm on Friday the 6th until 6am on Monday the 9th of March
A local diversion will be in place throughout these essential works, and drivers are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys. Live trunk road information is available by visiting trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
