A77 Barrier Replacement Works
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road maintenance programme, Scotland TranServ will this week carry out barrier replacement and signage works on the A77 Northbound between Bellfield Roundabout and Grassyards Junction.
In order to protect the safety of the travelling public and our workers it is necessary to install a heavy metal road barrier system on the Northbound lane. Works are scheduled for Tuesday 21st until the evening of Saturday 25th November.
Martin Gannon, Scotland TranServ’s Network Area Manager said:
“These essential works will see the replacement of a significant stretch of barrier along this major Ayrshire artery. The lane closure is essential in order to protect motorists and provide a safe working area for our operatives, allowing these works to be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
In order to reduce the disruption to the travelling public Scotland TranServ has scheduled the barrier project alongside works to replace four traffic signs under the same closure.
Drivers using the A77 this week are advised to allow additional time for their journeys and to check @trafficscotland on Twitter and the trafficscotland.org website for the latest trunk road information.
