A77 Hansel Village Resurfacing

As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will shortly resurface the A77 southbound at Hansel Village.

In order to complete this £176k resurfacing programme as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a series of overnight closures of the southbound carriageway between Monday 29th July and Saturday 3rd August.

David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:

“Scotland TranServ has been working in consultation with the emergency services, the local authority and key stakeholders to carefully schedule these works for minimal impact on commuters and businesses using the road every day. Our inspections have identified that this 815m stretch of carriageway is in need of resurfacing, and completing works under a series of southbound only overnight closures is the safest and most efficient way to do this.

“Local diversions will be in place while this important resurfacing programme is completed. We would therefore ask drivers to allow plenty of additional time for their journeys while this short project is completed.”

To complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement overnight closures of the A77 southbound in this area during the following times:

  • 8pm on Monday 29th July until 6am on Tuesday 30th July
  • 8pm on Tuesday 30th July until 6am on Wednesday 31st July
  • 8pm on Wednesday 31st July until 6am on Thursday 1st August
  • 8pm on Thursday 1st August until 6am on Friday 2nd August
  • 8pm on Friday 2nd August until 6am on Saturday 3rd August

Northbound traffic will not be affected during these closures.

Drivers are advised to check trafficscotland.org or to follow @trafficscotland on Twitter for live trunk road updates while these works are completed.
