A77 Spittalhill bridge joints installation

As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road maintenance programme, Scotland TranServ will carry out the overnight installation of the A77 Spittalhill bridge joints on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st January.

The short programme of overnight working is further to the recent resurfacing of the A77 Northbound Kilmarnock Bypass from Spittalhill to Inchgotrick Bridge.

Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Roads Design Engineer said:

“This short programme of works involves the milling out, removal and replacement of asphaltic bridge joints. We have worked in consultation with Police Scotland, local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule the works for a period of minimal disruption to local communities and the travelling public.”

In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible it will be necessary to close the Northbound carriageway from:

  • 8pm Tuesday 30th January to 6am Wednesday 31st January
  • 8pm Wednesday 31st January to 6am Thursday 1st February

Local diversions will be in place throughout this short programme of overnight work.

Emergency Service and local access will be provided throughout the works, however there will be no provision for abnormal loads or windfarm movements.
