A78 Boydston Farm Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface 820m of the A78 at Boydston Farm near Ardrossan.
In order to protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, the £112k programme of works will be carried out under daytime convoy between Tuesday 23rd and Friday 26th April.
Andrew Kelly, Scotland TranServ’s Project Design Lead on the works said:
“Following consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key local stakeholders, with their support, these works have been planned for the week following the busy Easter weekend, avoiding the peak summer holiday season and other local events later in the year. The trunk road is sufficiently wide in this part of the network that we can utilise a daytime convoy to reduce disruption to the local community.”
Scotland TranServ has been planning the works in liaison with a number of organisations and community groups. Following these discussions, convoy traffic management will be implemented during the following periods:
- 8am to 5pm on Tuesday 23rd April
- 8am to 5pm on Wednesday 24th April
- 8am to 5pm on Thursday 25th April
- 8am to 5pm on Friday 26th April
Further lining works will also be carried out overnight on Saturday between 8pm and 6am the following morning.
Specialist journey time modelling contractors are forecasting delays of up to 20 minutes. Drivers are advised to leave plenty of additional time for their journeys. Live trunk road updates are available on trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
