A78 Branchton Flood Investigation Works
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is currently carrying out urgent investigation works into a collapsed carrier pipe underneath the A78 at Branchton in Greenock.
It has been necessary to implement a lane closure in order to protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, while these essential works are carried out.
Paul Lynch, Scotland TranServ’s Network Manager said:
“We are working to investigate and repair the full extent of this problem. Our contractors have jetted the carrier pipe and carried out CCTV investigations into the pipe, which runs beneath the A78.
“It has been necessary to excavate this section to expose the pipe, we will remain on site until we have identified the issue and completed any necessary remedial actions. We would like to take this opportunity to thank drivers and the wider community for their patience while these important investigations are carried out.”
