A8 Pottery Street Improvements
09 May 2014
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will continue its strong progress to improve the road infrastructure through Inverclyde with overnight work to resurface the A8 Pottery Street in the heart of Greenock.
The project is part of a significant programme of works to improve the road surfacing through the town for the long-term benefits of commuters and local drivers alike. This short term project will improve a major Inverclyde artery for years to come.
Brendan O’Sullivan, Scotland TranServ’s Area Network Programme Manager said:
“The road surface in this part of Greenock is reaching the end of its operational life and is therefore in need of improvement. In order to reduce disruption to local drivers we will carry out the work overnight. We realise this is a main thoroughfare through the town and that is why we are taking this measure to reduce disruption in whatever way possible.”
The first phase of the work to the eastbound carriageway will take place overnight from 19-23 May 2014, with the westbound carriageway works being carried out from 27-30 May 2014. Work on both phases will begin at 20.00 and end at 06.00.
The Pottery Street project follows on from improvement work at Bow Road and the Cartsdyke and Cartsburn Roundabouts.
