Essential Cyclic Maintenance Activities Update
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will continue essential cyclic maintenance activities across the South West Scotland trunk road network.
Scotland TranServ and Transport Scotland recognise that the removal of intrusive roadside litter and the cutting back of grass and other vegetation is essential in maintaining the safety of our trunk road network. Under strict physical distancing protocols, we are progressively returning to this service over the summer months.
Colin Stewart, Scotland TranServ’s Operations Delivery Manager said:
“The health and safety of our workers and the travelling public is of paramount importance to Scotland TranServ. As such, we have implemented many new working practices across our own workforce and those of our contractors and suppliers. Thorough risk assessments have been carried out as we take a lead in the delivery of trunk road maintenance.
“As a matter of public safety, Scotland TranServ is implementing a programme of Cyclic Maintenance activities across the South West Scotland trunk road network. Traffic volumes remain low and disruption will therefore be minimised.
“Scotland TranServ and Transport Scotland would like to take this opportunity to thank drivers for making only essential journeys over the last few months, and for continuing to play their part in protecting the country’s key workers.”
