Incident Liaison Officer

Reports to

Control Room Manager

Location

Polmadie, Glasgow

Role

To direct and record incident response and winter service activities from within the Network Control Room and assist the Network Management team in the execution of their duties

Accountabilities

  • Deployment of TRISS crews
  • Deployment of ISU resources
  • Raising and closing Operations Instrucitons
  • MART liaison/attendance
  • Winter Service Duty Officer
  • Liaison with, and support, to traffic and roadspace coordination team
  • Effective liaison with third parties
  • Dealing with customer complaints
  • Social media
  • Compliance wth relevant Health and Safety legislation
  • Adherence to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Take Care reporting and interventions
  • TRISS responses within timescale
  • ISU resources mobilised to attend within timescales
  • Winter service performance indicators met
  • Accurate records maintained
  • Network disruption minimised
  • Timely and accurate input into IRIS

Personal Qualities and Experience

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Significant experience of working in a Control Room environment
  • Experience of incident management
  • IT competency
  • Effective communication skills
  • Allocating and managing resources
  • Use of Airwave
  • Use of IRIS
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
  • Experience of winter service monitoring
  • Knowledge of the Trunk Road network
  • Flexible
  • Team player

The following qualities/ experience are desirable:

  • Driving licence
  • Participation in Multi-Agency Response Team
  • Knowledge of Standard Incident Diversion Routes
