M8 Resurfacing River Gryfe to Craigmure

On behalf of Transport Scotland, Scotland TranServ will this weekend carry out the second of two adjoining resurfacing programmes on the M8 Westbound between the River Gryfe and Craigmure, from Junction 29 (St James) to 30 (Erskine).

To complete the resurfacing it will be necessary to install a contraflow traffic management system from 8pm on Friday 22nd to 6am on Monday 25thFebruary.

Tony Chambers, Scotland TranServ’s Project Design Lead on the programme said:

“Major resurfacing will be carried out at the weekend. Resurfacing the eastbound hard shoulder has ensured that two eastbound lanes remain open throughout, reducing the impact on drivers using this busy route.”

It will again be necessary to close the M8 Westbound Junction 29 onslip over the weekend. Local diversions will be in place.

Drivers are again advised to seek alternative travel arrangements this weekend, with traffic modelling specialists forecasting significant delays throughout. Live trunk road information is available on trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
