M8 Tree Cutting – Scotland Transerv

M8 Tree Cutting

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out a programme of overnight tree cutting adjacent to the M8 eastbound between junctions 19 and 17.

The 6 week schedule will help to increase the safety and natural light for road users in this area. Works will also be carried out to clear the footpath at St George’s Road.

Works will be carried out Monday to Friday overnights only from mid-October to the start of December.

Joe Bryceland, Scotland TranServ’s Cyclic Delivery Manager said:

“This project will dramatically increase the amount of light in an area that is normally quite dark and damp, and particularly at this time of year, is covered in leave fall. I am sure those who use this footpath will appreciate the work that will be done here.

“We will be removing a fair number of trees to also help increase the safety and natural light for drivers. The work will improve the visual perception in the city centre and remove large vegetation that has out-grown its location. Local residents are advised to expect some noise and we would like to thank them in advance for their patience while this programme is completed.”

In order to reduce the impact on commuters and businesses, Scotland TranServ will carry out these works during the following times:

  • 10pm to 6am Monday to Friday overnights from Oct 21st to end Nov
