M8 Westbound Junction 28 Off Slip Resurfacing
On behalf of Transport Scotland, Scotland TranServ will resurface approximately 300 metres of the M8 Westbound Junction 28 off slip at Glasgow Airport.
In order to deliver this £71k road surface improvement programme as quickly and safely as possible, while keeping disruption to airport travellers and local businesses to an absolute minimum, works will be delivered under a series of overnight closures.
Liam Browne, Scotland TranServ’s Area Network Manager said:
“We have been working closely with the emergency services, local authority, and key stakeholders to carefully schedule this essential programme of road surface improvements. In particularly we have consulted with airport management to help reduce the impact on their customers and staff.
“Local diversion routes will be implemented while we deliver these long-term improvements to the surface of the off slip. We would therefore like to ask any drivers using the trunk road overnight, and particularly those catching flights or collecting friends and family to allow some extra time for their journeys. Scotland TranServ would like to take this opportunity to thank drivers for their patience while this essential, road surface improvement project is delivered.”
To complete these works, it will be necessary to implement closures of the off slip during the following times:
- 8pm Monday 17th to 6am Tuesday 18th February
- 8pm Tuesday 18th to 6am Wednesday 19th February
- 8pm Wednesday 19th to 6am Thursday 20th February
- 8pm Monday 24th to 6am Tuesday 25th February
- 8pm Tuesday 25th to 6am Wednesday 26th February
- 8pm Wednesday 26th to 6am Thursday 27th February
Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journey. Live trunk road updates are available by visiting trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
