Due to operational issues, it has been necessary to reschedule the planned resurfacing of the A76 between Polneul Farm and High Cairn Farm, west of Kirkconnel.

Resurfacing works on the A76 Lochside Farm and Mid-Lowes Farm, between Cumnock and New Cumnock are however still planned to go ahead this coming weekend, with a smaller localised diversion route in place during the following times:

• 8pm on Friday 6th September until 6am Monday 9th of September

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland is now planning to resurface the A76 Polneul to High Cairn over the following weekend, with a further four overnight closures. Works therefore, will take place during the following times:

• Weekend Closure – 7pm Friday 13th September to 6am Monday 16th September
• Overnight Closure – 7pm Monday 16th September to 6am Tuesday 17th September
• Overnight Closure – 7pm Tuesday 17th September to 6am Wednesday 18th September
• Overnight Closure – 7pm Wednesday 18th September to 6am Thursday 19th September
• Overnight Closure – 7pm Thursday 19th September to 6am Friday 20th September

Drivers are advised to include over half an hour of additional journey time in order to travel the lengthy diversion route, which will be in place across the weekend.
