The fourth generation contract
Scotland TranServ commenced the management and maintenance of network operations within the South West Unit on 1 April 2013 on behalf of Transport Scotland; an executive agency of the Scottish Government.
Transport Scotland operates five distinct maintenance units across the country with Scotland TranServ acting as the operating company in the south west region.
The contract runs until 15th of August 2020, but is extendable beyond this for up to another two-and-a-half years.
The scope of the contract
- All routine inspections of the network including safety and structural inspections
- Winter maintenance
- Cyclic maintenance (including gully cleaning, grass cutting and landscaping)
- Structural maintenance of roads and bridges
- Road improvements
- Routine maintenance including:
- Road lighting and traffic signal maintenance
- Carriageway and road pavement repairs
- Safety barrier repairs
- Sustainability and environmental management
- Media and communications
