Scotland TranServ Ecologist, Rachel Kennedy has received a Highly Commended accolade for her work with Glasgow’s rare fossorial water voles.
Rachel was rewarded by industry body, CIEEM in the Postgraduate Student Project for her study, Quantifying the Impact of Anthropogenic Disturbance on Localised Water Vole Arvicola Amphibious Populations.
Scotland TranServ’s Operating Company Representative, Andy Fraser said:
“We are very proud of Rachel and the hard work that both she and her colleague Shannen Allison undertook in supporting this rare water vole population living on the verges of one of the UK’s busiest motorways. Their study will help to better direct our works and shape future policy to protect this and other species which call our motorway verges and side slopes home.”
