TranServ launches winter campaign
Scotland TranServ this week supported Transport Scotland and our fellow operating companies in launching our Winter Campaign for 2019/20.
The South West trunk road management company has stockpiled 18,300 tonnes of salt in preparation for the wintry weather, across depots in Glasgow, Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway.
TranServ’s 600km network comprises 25 spreading routes, with 39 gritters and specialist plant ready to tackle the worst the winter has to throw our way. With a team of more than 100 experienced and trained winter operatives working around the clock, we’re monitoring weather fronts and forecasts in advance.
Andrew Adam, Scotland TranServ’s Winter Operations Manager said:
“Across South West Scotland we’re ready for whatever weather winter might bring. While we’re preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best, our highly experienced and extensively trained team is ready to keep Scotland moving. They battled and beat the Beast from the East, and not only kept South West Scotland’s trunk roads moving, but supported local councils and operators through our mutual aid programme.
“Again, we would ask drivers to take the advice of Police Scotland and Traffic Scotland before heading out. Please ensure that your vehicle is ready for winter, and that you use these information sources to carefully plan and consider your journeys.”
