TranServ Triumphs at Transport Awards
Scotland TranServ was triumphant at last night’s National Transport Awards in London.
The South West trunk road operating company bagged a brace of accolades, lifting the top prize in the Road Safety, Traffic Management and Enforcement, and Excellence in Technology categories.
It was another award for TranServ’s Road Safety team, making it three for the year so far for their work in helping to save lives on Scotland’s trunk roads through innovative new methods.
Vincent Tait, Scotland TranServ’s Strategic Road Safety Manager said:
“This is the most prestigious event in our industry’s calendar. To receive this award is further testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. With around half a century of combined road safety experience, all this collective knowledge and understanding is being concentrated into delivering innovative, long-term solutions to the benefit of South West Scotland drivers.”
Brave Scotland TranServ TRISS Operative, Darren McLaren also received a Highly Commended accolade for his selfless efforts, working with Police Scotland, to save a vulnerable person on the Kingston Bridge.
Network Manager, Paul Lynch added:
“Darren and his colleagues working across our TRISS and ISU teams patrol the network day after day. In the last year alone they have supported 2,800 stranded motorists and attended more than 5,000 incidents, working closely with the emergency services. Often they are first responders. Darren was first on the scene to help a vulnerable person on the Kingston Bridge. His act of bravery in supporting attending Police Officers rightly deserved commendation, and we are extremely proud of him, his team and all their efforts.”
