Due to the oncoming arrival of Storm Brian it will be necessary to postpone the start of the M8 Eastbound Junction 29-28 resurfacing works, scheduled for this weekend (Fri 20th – Mon 23rd Oct).

At this time, we are now planning to start these works on Saturday evening (8pm on Sat 21st Oct). The motorway will be reopened by 6am on Monday 23rd as previously intended.

This will however mean that the extent of carriageway resurfaced will be reduced. Therefore we will need to timetable a further project to complete this additional resurfacing at a later date.

This amendment to the plan on Saturday and Sunday remains dependent on prevailing weather conditions.

Our traffic flow modelling contractor is forecasting potential delays of up to 40 minutes. We would therefore ask drivers to plan their journeys with this in mind and if possible avoid the area altogether or consider the use of public transport.
