Whistleberry Toll Update
01 May 2014
Scotland TranServ has restored the A725 at Whistleberry Toll to normal service following emergency repairs this afternoon.
It was necessary to close the southbound carriageway of the A725 East Kilbride Expressway from 12 noon to around 3pm this afternoon in order to avoid disruption to peak evening traffic.
The emergency repairs were necessary following an accident late last night, which caused damage to a bridge parapet. The carriageway had been reduced to a single lane already in the morning as a result of this incident.
Malcolm Shanks, Scotland TranServ’s Operations Manager said:
“We would like to thank drivers for their patience while this essential repair work was carried out. In order to minimise the potential disruption for peak time travellers this evening it was necessary to fully close the A725 southbound for a few hours, so that we could carry out the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
