A77 Resurfacing Between Sandyford Toll & Dutch House Rbt
Following feedback from key local stakeholders Scotland TranServ has amended its delivery plan to carry out resurfacing on a 3.5km stretch of the A77 northbound carriageway between the Sandyford Toll and Dutch House Roundabouts.
In order to complete this £300,000 programme of works, it will be necessary to implement a series of seven overnight closures starting from 8pm on Friday 14th September.
James McLean, Scotland TranServ’s Principal Network Design Engineer said:
“Scotland TranServ has responded to concerns of key local stakeholders and rescheduled the original programme of works from a full weekend closure to a series of overnight closures. Our works have been co-ordinated to ensure that the traffic impact on the A77 and the diversion route have been timetabled to avoid works on the diversion route and minimise disruption for local commuters and businesses.
“We will resurface approximately 12,500m2 of the A77 northbound trunk road. This is an important project for Scotland TranServ, and having been postponed in August, it was important for us to complete the works as soon as possible and in advance of the winter period. The window in our resurfacing programme will now allow us complete these works.”
Works will be carried out under full OVERNIGHT closure of the A77 northbound during the following times:
- 8pm Friday 14th to 6am Saturday 15th September
- 8pm Saturday 15th to 6am Sunday 16th September
- 8pm Sunday 16th to 6am Monday 17th September
- 8pm Monday 17th to 6am Tuesday 18th September
- 8pm Tuesday 18th to 6am Wednesday 19th September
- 8pm Wednesday 19th to 6am Thursday 20th September
- 8pm Thursday 20th to 6am Friday 21st September
A77 southbound traffic will NOT be affected. In order to allow the carriageway to cool and harden sufficiently it will be necessary to implement a lane 1 closure on Sunday 16th September.
