Yellow Warning Postpones A77 Ballantrae Resurfacing
Due to adverse weather conditions it has been necessary to postpone A77 resurfacing works at Ballantrae.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for high winds for this part of South Ayrshire, with heavy rain also expected. The conditions will increase throughout today into tomorrow.
David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s Structural Maintenance design lead on the works said:
“To protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, it has been necessary to postpone these works throughout the Yellow Weather Warning period. The convoy traffic management system will be suspended until Thursday morning, once the worst of the weather has passed.
“As a result of this short interruption, it will be necessary extend the period of working in order to complete the resurfacing programme. While we will make every effort to accelerate the scheme, it is likely that we will require additional time next week.”
