A737 essential maintenance works
Road users are set to benefit from £160k of essential maintenance on the A737 at Fernside Cottage between Beith and Dalry commencing on Friday 7 August.
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out resurfacing works over one weekend to ensure the longevity of this road surface, which is used by 5,000 motorists each day.
The works, which will be carried out from Friday 7 to Monday 10 August, will operate under a total closure of the A737 at this location in both directions.
Gordon Wilson, Contract Director, Scotland TranServ said:
“This essential maintenance scheme is vital to ensuring we prolong the lifespan of the road surface benefiting road users for years to come.
“We have done everything we can to programme works over one weekend, when traffic flows are lighter, however we would advise motorists to plan ahead and leave plenty of time for their journeys.”
All southbound traffic should leave Manrahead roundabout via B777 to Kilbirnie and northbound from Townend Street via B780 to Kilbirnie.
Motorists can keep up to date with real time traffic information by visiting www.trafficscotland.co.uk or following @Traffic Scotland on Twitter. Advanced warning signs will also be in place on the approach to the off slip to inform motorists that roadworks are taking place.
