A75 Bettyknowes to Barfil Resurfacing
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will shortly begin resurfacing of the A75 between Bettyknowes and Barfil, east of Crocketford.
In order to minimise the disruption on the local community the resurfacing of this 1.6km stretch of carriageway will be carried out under 7 nights of overnight convoy traffic management, between Monday the 29th of July and Tuesday the 6th of August, avoiding weekend working.
Ruairi Dickson, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead on the scheme said:
“We’ve been working with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully schedule this £230k programme of works. It will be possible to complete this short resurfacing project under overnight convoy, minimising the impact on commuters and freight traffic using this busy trunk road. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their patience during this short-term disruption. The scheme will deliver long-term benefits to this section of the A75 trunk road.”
In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement an overnight convoy system during the following times:
- 7pm each night to 7am each morning between Monday the 29th of July and Friday the 2nd of August
- 7pm each night to 7am each morning on Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th of August
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys during this time. Live trunk road updates will be available by visiting trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
