Postponed: Resurfacing A737 North of Beith
Due to local authority roadworks on the diversion route, it has been necessary for Scotland TranServ to postpone resurfacing works planned for the A737 North of Beith.
Works had been planned for the resurfacing of 1.2km of the trunk road between Roadhead Roundabout and Clerksbridge Toll Roundabout, starting at 8pm on Friday the 26th until 6am on Monday the 29th of July.
It would have been necessary to carry out these works under a full closure of the trunk road in this area. This will obviously no longer be required by Scotland TranServ.
Jonathan Dyer, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:
“We work in consultation with a number of partners including local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders in the planning of our works. It has however come to light that local authority schemes have been scheduled for our planned diversion route.
“Scotland TranServ has therefore taken the decision to postpone the planned resurfacing of the A737 between the Roadhead and Clerksbridge Toll Roundabouts, to be reprogrammed for later in the year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank drivers for their patience.”
Scotland TranServ’s programme of work across South West Scotland is supporting the economic growth and development of the area. We will continue to keep local communities and businesses updated on the rescheduling of this important A737 resurfacing project.
