Road Safety Green Light FIR Inspiring Change

Scotland TranServ’s multi award winning Strategic Road Safety team has been nominated for the prestigious CECA Inspiring Change awards.

The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) is the representative organisation for the UK’s civil engineering contractors. They support those working to maintain and upgrade the UK’s critical infrastructure networks in transport, energy, water, waste and communications.

Road Safety manager, Vincent Tait has been named a finalist in the FIR Inspiration category for his work with pioneering mobility company, Neatebox. Together they have installed Bluetooth connection devices to a number of pedestrian crossings across the South West Scotland network. These crossings can be activated by visually and mobility impaired users of the Neatebox ‘Button’ app.

Speaking ahead of next week’s award ceremony (21st May), Vincent said:

“This is further recognition of the hard work and dedication delivered by Scotland TranServ’s Road Safety team. Day-in and day-out their innovative solutions and extensive working knowledge of the trunk roads is addressing real problems and helping to save real lives.

“We have developed a close working relationship with Gavin Neate and his team, and together we have worked to build this innovative solution, expand its use and enhance the lives of thousands of people living with visual and mobility impairments in South West Scotland, helping them to better integrate into society and to reap the rewards of all its rich benefits.”
