The second phase of a half a million pound project to improve the road surface of the A78 through Largs is set to commence at Routenburn on Tuesday 27 September.
Scotland TranServ will carry out the works on behalf of Transport Scotland in a £222k investment to replace over 6,500 square metres of road surface in both directions.
To protect operatives and road users alike, a daytime convoy system will be in operation between Hollywood and Douglas Street from 7.00am to 7.00pm each day, commencing on Tuesday 27 September with the completion of the works being scheduled for Friday 7 October 2016.
Operating company representative for Scotland TranServ, Andy Fraser said:
“This is the second phase in a programme of works to improve the road surface on the A78 through Largs.
“We have given careful consideration to the planning of these works and after extensive consultation with the Community Council and local authority we have agreed to deliver the project out with the busy tourist season, therefore lessening the impact on local residents and businesses.
“Road users may experience delays of up to 40 minutes during peak times therefore motorists should plan ahead and leave plenty of time for their journeys.”
