Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland is set to carry out £112k of improvement works to the eastbound M8 at Southbar.
The resurfacing works will take place overnight from Friday 8 May until Monday 10 May 2015. Due to the nature of the works and to protect the health and safety of the workforce and motorists alike a full closure of the eastbound carriageway of the M8 at Southbar will be in operation from 8pm until 6am each evening. A full diversion will be in place:

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out resurfacing works on the A701 beside Burrance of Courance Farm, near Harestanes Windfarm beginning Friday 8 May.
The works will see almost 1km of the North and Southbound carriageway resurfaced over one weekend; benefiting almost 20,000 motorists who use this route each day.More than £4.5 million has been invested in Dumfries and Galloway’s roads in the last 12 months alone with this being the latest in this area of historical importance.

“This vital maintenance scheme will improve this busy section of the A701 at Burrance for local residents, commercial businesses and motorists for years to come.
“Although work is programmed for over the weekend when traffic flows are lighter, some disruption is inevitable and I thank the local community and motorists for their patience while we carry out these essential works.”
To ensure the safety of roadworkers, local residents and motorists the work will be carried out under a total closure from 7.00pm Friday 8 May until 6.00am on Monday 11 May.
In Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland TranServ has subcontracted its roads maintenance and winter services to DG First which maintains over 260 kilometres of south west Scotland’s trunk road network stretching from Gretna to Stranraer, Dumfries to Beattock & Dumfries to Kirkconnel.

A million pounds is being invested by Transport Scotland in the coming financial year to resurface the M74 between junctions 6 and 12.
The first stage of the programme, which is being carried out by Scotland Transerv, will begin at the end of April and will see more than a quarter of a million pounds of repairs being carried out across 4 locations on the M74 . Traffic management and diversions will be in place throughout to allow the work to go ahead safely.

Scotland TranServ, working on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out a programme of works on the Cree Bridge on the A75.
With the road surface coming towards the end of its operational life, the Scotland TranServ team will improve the quality of the surface and waterproof the bridge deck.
This is a significant project over the River Cree that will deliver long-term, tangible benefits for drivers in this part of Dumfries and Galloway.
Work will begin on the 27 April daily for approximately 4 weeks and two way traffic signalling will be in place during this time to protect the operatives working on site and to allow vehicles to cross the bridge safely. From the 8 May works will also take place from 2000 to 0600 each night with a total closure being implemented during these times.

Eastbound A714, right turn onto King Street - left onto B7079 New Galloway Road, A712 re-join A75.
Westbound right turn onto A712 – left New Galloway Road – left Victoria Street Newton Stewart Roundabout and re-join carriageway.

Road users are set to benefit from an additional £319k of resurfacing works on the Dumfries Bypass on the A75 Lockerbie Road Roundabout to the Driving Range which will improve the road surface for those using the route. The works will see Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland carry out the resurfacing work from Friday 24 to Wednesday 29 April 2015.
To ensure the safety of motorists and roadworkers alike the works will be carried out under a total closure from 2000hrs on Friday evening with the road reopening at 0600hrs on Monday morning. The remainder of the works will be carried out overnight from Monday to Wednesday from 2000hrs to 0600hrs. Every effort is being made to help keep disruption to a minimum during that time and diversions will be in place.

Eastbound – A76 Glasgow Road , Buccleuch St, Academy St Loreburn Street , English Street. A780 Annan Road.
Westbound – A780 Annan road, Shakespeare street, White sands, A76 Glasgow Road.

Scotland TranServ on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out road improvement works on the A78 southbound at Loans.
The £320,000 project will benefit drivers using the route every day, delivering a smoother, quieter journey as they travel along this section of the A78. The work will take place from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 April. It will be necessary to implement traffic management during this project. A northbound total closure and southbound offside lane closure will take place on both Thursday and Sunday night to allow the set-up & removal of the contraflow system which will be in full operation between 0600hrs on Friday until Sunday evening. The northbound onslip from Loans will also be closed during the northbound total closures.
The diversion for the total closure is: Northbound Traffic leave A78 – follow B746 – A759 – B746 – rejoin A78 at Auchengate Roundabout.

Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland is carrying out £180k of resurfacing works on the M8 Eastbound between Junction 29 and 30 prior to Barnhill. Works to resurface almost 1km of the M8 motorway will take place from Thursday 16 April at 2000hrs until Monday 20 April at 0600hrs. Due to the nature of the works and to protect the safety of our work-force and motorists alike a full closure of the Eastbound carriageway between junction 29 and 30 will be implemented with traffic diverted via a contraflow system on the westbound carriageway.

“This is an important programme of work as Scotland TranServ continues to improve the road surface of some of the countries busiest roads. The M8 has seen significant investment over recent times which will provide long term benefits for commuters, visitors and freight traffic.”

A spokesperson for Scotland TranServ said:
“The planned installation of the M8 Hillington Footbridge on Saturday 11 April has been postponed due to a forecast for high winds.
“The M8 between Junctions 26 and 27 will now remain open until a revised installation date is scheduled.”
Almost £350k is being invested in vital improvements to the M8 westbound between Junctions 29 and 30 at St James’ Interchange commencing on 7 April 2015.
Scotland TranServ on behalf of Transport Scotland will upgrade the hard shoulder enabling motorists to use this lane not only during future road maintenance works but also in the event of an emergency.
To ensure the safety of motorists and roadworkers alike the works will be carried out under a total closure of the westbound road over six nights between Junctions 29 and 30 from 8.00pm on Tuesday 7 April until 6.00am on Tuesday 14 April. There will be no works on Saturday 11 April due to ongoing works at Hillington.
The hard shoulder will be under a total closure throughout the works and the westbound on slip from St James’ Interchange to the M8 will also be closed each night. All traffic should follow a signed diversion in place via the A726 to re-join the M8 via the M898.
