Over £68,000 of essential road maintenance resurfacing work will get underway on the A77 south of Bankfield on 26 October 2015, benefiting local residents and road users for years to come.
Scotland TranServ, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out the resurfacing works in two overnight road closures, to repair defects to the existing road surface.
To carry out these works safely, there will be a total closure of the A77 from 8.00pm on Monday 26 October until 6.00am on Tuesday 27 October and then again from 8.00pm on Tuesday 27 October until 6.00am on Wednesday 28 October. A signed diversion route will be available as described below.
Gordon Wilson, Contract Director for Scotland TranServ said:
“This essential maintenance scheme will ensure that the A77 remains in good condition for local residents and road users who use this route each day.”
“To ensure minimal disruption work has been programmed over the shortest period of time possible – however, I would urge road users to leave plenty of time for their journeys.”
Advanced warning signs will be in place on the approach to the works to inform road users that roadworks are taking place.
